On Friday, November 25th, IAM Local
W-33 played a huge part in the
sponsorship and organization of the
4th Annual All Union Christmas Party
in International Falls, MN.
The kick off to the evening
was the Main Street Holiday Parade.
Out of 32 entries, our float built
by the Joint Union Council, took 1st
place for the second year in a row.
"Way to go TEAM!" Following
the parade, members and guests were
welcomed at the Union Hall with
refreshments and entertainment.
This year's event was a huge success
with over 300 area Union members and
guests in attendance. Great
music, dancing, food, fun and
spirits was had by all. Area
businesses donating prizes helped
our attendees to raise $975.00 for
local charities through raffle and
50/50 drawings. The
International Falls Hunger Coalition
will receive $490.00 of the funds
and the Salvation Army's Angel Tree
will receive the remaining $485.00
to purchase Christmas gifts for
underprivileged children in
Koochiching County.
Guests also gave generously to
the Local W-33 bartenders.
Raising over $250.00, Local W-33
Officers and Stewards Steve
Lindmark, Joe Schwartz, Larry Kec,
and Elroy Jesme worked all evening
for tips to be donated to Sister
Diane Rasmussen in her courageous
fight against cancer.
