G-P NEGOTIATIONS SET TO
RESUME
Federal Mediator Sherman Bolden
has scheduled negotiations
between G-P and the IAM for
Local Lodges W349, W401 and
W475. Meetings will be November
2, 2006 in Memphis.
THE IAMAW AGENDA WHAT DO WEWANT?
AND WHY DIDN’T WE VOTE THE
RECENT GP PROPOSAL?
The IAM’s proposal is pretty
simple:
Our members need a decent wage increase each year – G-P has had
theirs, they have had an extra
long run of extraordinary
profits in building products.
Our members need good healthcare for themselves and their families
at a reasonable cost. They
need it available when they
retire at a cost they can
afford. That means the Nelson
Trust!
Our members need a good pension increase to help take care of them
after they retire. Other G-P
employees in the same towns get
almost 50% more retirement
benefit.
The little things matter like prescription safety glasses and
safety shoe allowances.
G-P must stop trying to bully its employees into agreeing to
gut the contract rights to stand
up for
themselves.
We need a single proposal containing these items along with
other issues already tentatively
agreed on for our members to
vote on – YES OR NO – not maybe
this or maybe that or something
else.
LET G-P KNOW YOU ARE NOT 2nd
CLASS EMPLOYEES
YOU DESERVE AS GOOD A
CONTRACT AS ANYONE!
TELL G-P TO STOP PLAYING
GAMES AND BARGAIN FAIRLY – LET
THEM HEAR YOU IN THE
PLANTS!!!!!
